ZeroBounce is one of the largest email verification services, with a wide set of deliverability tools around it. If you mostly need to clean lists before you send, it is worth comparing what that costs with a simpler tool. This page puts the two side by side, using ZeroBounce's own pricing page for its side, and says where ZeroBounce is the better choice.

Information about ZeroBounce was checked on its official pricing page on October 14, 2026 (source at the end). Prices and terms change: check their current page before you decide.

The short version

  • Lower entry price. ZeroBounce's pay-as-you-go starts at $39 for 2,000 validations (its minimum purchase), about $19.50 per 1,000. MailQuell packs start at $7 for 5,000 checks ($1.40 per 1,000) and go down to $0.50 per 1,000.
  • Credits that do not depend on a subscription. ZeroBounce says credits never expire while you have an active ZeroBounce ONE subscription ($99 a month); without one, expiration rules may apply. MailQuell pack credits never expire while your account is open, with or without a plan.
  • Both are fair on "unknown" and duplicates. Neither charges for "unknown" results or for duplicate addresses.
  • Free checks. ZeroBounce gives 100 free validations a month when you sign up with a business domain. MailQuell's free plan has 200 checks every month, plus 100 welcome credits.
  • ZeroBounce is the better fit if you want a full deliverability suite (inbox placement tests, blacklist monitoring, AI scoring) in one place.

Price: what you actually pay

Verification is priced per address, so compare the price per 1,000 at the volume you buy.

ZeroBounce's pay-as-you-go starts at $39 for 2,000 validations. Its pricing page has a calculator for larger amounts (from 10,000 credits up to 1 million), with a lower price per credit at higher volumes: enter the number you need there to see the exact price.

MailQuell's credit packs:

Pack Price Per 1,000
5,000 $7 $1.40
10,000 $12 $1.20
25,000 $25 $1.00
50,000 $45 $0.90
100,000 $79 $0.79
250,000 $169 $0.68
500,000 $299 $0.60
1,000,000 $499 $0.50

There are also monthly plans with a daily allowance, from $7 a month for 500 checks a day. See the pricing page.

Credit expiry

ZeroBounce's pricing page says credits never expire while you keep an active ZeroBounce ONE subscription, which costs $99 a month. Without a subscription, it says expiration rules may apply, depending on when the account was created or when the credits were bought. If you clean lists only a few times a year, check those terms before you buy a large amount.

MailQuell pack credits, and the 100 welcome credits, never expire while your account is open. You do not need a plan to keep them.

What the verification tells you

Both tools check whether a mailbox exists without sending an email; ZeroBounce's page says it also removes risky contacts such as spam traps and abuse accounts. MailQuell gives each address a verdict such as safe, invalid, catch-all, role (info@, sales@), disposable, risky or unknown, with the reason. Our guide to catch-all emails explains how to handle the addresses that no verifier can confirm.

Where ZeroBounce may be the better choice

  • More deliverability tools. ZeroBounce includes inbox placement tests, blacklist monitoring and an email server test. MailQuell focuses on verification and DNS checks.
  • AI scoring and activity data. ZeroBounce can score addresses and show activity data for some of them. MailQuell does not offer this.
  • Very large files and support. ZeroBounce says it cleans 100,000 addresses in 45 minutes and offers 24/7 support. MailQuell accepts up to 50,000 addresses per list; bigger files need to be split, or sent through the API.
  • A long track record. ZeroBounce has been on the market for years. MailQuell is newer.

What MailQuell adds

  • A send forecast: for each part of a verified list, the bounce rate to expect if you send it now, next to the 2% line where sending services start to complain (see bulk email verification).
  • Bounce guarantee: if an address marked safe bounces because the mailbox no longer exists, report it and get the credit back.
  • List tools for the email platform you already use: verify a Mailchimp, Brevo or MailerLite list and write the results back as tags, lists or groups.
  • A form widget for WordPress, Wix and Ghost that stops invalid and disposable addresses at sign-up.
  • Data hosted in the United Kingdom; uploaded lists are deleted when the check ends.

How to switch

  1. Create a free account (200 checks a month, no card).
  2. Export your list from your email tool as CSV or Excel and upload it, or connect Mailchimp, Brevo or MailerLite.
  3. Compare the results on a list you already verified with ZeroBounce before you buy a pack.

You can also check a single address now with the free email checker. For another comparison, see MailQuell vs NeverBounce.
