MailQuell

Free email checker

Find out whether an email address exists before you send to it. We check the format, the domain, its mail servers and the mailbox itself, and no email is ever sent.

3 free checks a day. The address is not stored and no email is sent.

Checking a whole list?

Upload a CSV and verify thousands of addresses at once. 200 free checks every month + 100 welcome credits.

How it works

Format and domain

The address is checked against the email format rules, then we look up the domain and make sure it has mail servers (MX records).

Mailbox check

We connect to the domain's mail server and ask whether it accepts mail for this address, then disconnect before any message is sent.

Risk signals

Throwaway (disposable) domains, role addresses such as info@ or sales@, free webmail and spam-trap signs (new, parked or blocklisted domains, machine-generated addresses) are flagged, because they bounce, complain or hurt your sender reputation.

Questions

Is the email checker really free?

Yes. You can check 3 addresses a day without an account. A free account gives you 200 checks every month plus 100 welcome credits, and lets you upload whole lists.

Does the person receive an email?

No. The check stops before the message stage of the SMTP conversation, so nothing is delivered and the person is not notified.

Why is a result sometimes "unknown"?

Some mail servers refuse to answer, delay unknown senders (greylisting) or accept every address (catch-all). Instead of guessing, we tell you when a server did not give a clear answer.

Do you store the addresses I check here?

No. Addresses checked with the free tool are not saved. We only keep an anonymous counter for the daily limit, deleted after two days.
